Her path to this work began at the age of 10, when she received acupuncture to help treat chronic migraines. That experience not only brought relief, it also sparked inspiration and opened her eyes to the powerful, transformative potential of this medicine.

With a deep belief in the body’s ability to heal itself, Alanah uses tools such as acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, herbal medicine, and other modalities to treat disharmonies from chronic pain, stress, digestive issues, insomnia and so much more.

Alanah is honored to work with clients from all walks of life. Her approach is gentle, personalized, and rooted in both classical techniques and modern research.

Jessie Hill is the owner of Hilltop Healing, LLC. She is trained in both Five Element Acupuncture as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine. Jessie’s training in sound healing and yoga is a big part of the nearly unbelievable journey that led Jessie to open this practice. Michele Merkel is a licensed acupuncturist with training in both Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches. She has extensive experience treating diverse patient populations in community clinics, Maryland University of Integrative Health’s Natural Care Center, and the Howard County Detention Center, where she was the first MUIH student authorized to treat residents and staff.

In her practice, Michele uses acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, auricular acupuncture, and Chinese dietary therapy to create individualized treatments that support patients’ health and well-being.

Before becoming an acupuncturist, Michele was an environmental lawyer and nonprofit leader, experiences that deepened her commitment to advocacy and empowering others. She brings that same dedication and compassion into her acupuncture practice, meeting each patient with care, curiosity, and respect.  She is excited to partner with patients who want to take charge of their health to live longer and fuller lives.
